Conversations for Change has completed this stage of it's mission. A Creative Team of eleven, carried out nine months of artistic interventions, experiments and interruptions in everyday places and situations in Edinburgh, and over 1000 conversations about mental health took place.
Platform 2 was our final intervention. LED screens and pairs of benches were placed along the public space at Edinburgh Waverley Train Station. Throughout the day more than 300 people had conversations at the benches about mental health, many of whom stayed for several hours.
The retrospective exhibition at Summerhall which showed the film of Platform 2 brought the conversation to even more people. In November this year the project won Creative Edinburgh's Social Award.
We aim to keep our conversation going. Soon Platform 2 film will be available on the website. We have received funding from See Me to take Platform 2 on a short tour of Scotland, and create a package for groups and individuals wishing to use the work.
